As a director, José is the creative force behind the Brazilian Portuguese dubbing of some of television’s most iconic and demanding productions, including HBO’s Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, and GIRLS.
Beyond the director's chair, his vocal performance has shaped the Brazilian experience of global pop culture. Over his extensive career, he has lent his voice to legendary characters such as Lord Eddard Stark and Prince Doran Martell (Game of Thrones), the iconic DC villain Darkseid (Justice League), beloved figures like Apu and Kent Brockman (The Simpsons), and Detective Sonny Carisi (Law & Order: SVU).
A testament to his cultural impact, José has been inducted as an "Immortal" lifetime member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Arts, History, and Literature (ABRASCI). He holds Chair No. 9 in the Arts—a seat previously occupied by the legendary Ary Barroso. Expanding his global recognition, he is a 2026 Voice Arts® Awards Nominee (SOVAS), an honor that places him among the world's elite voice acting talent. This prestigious honor underscores his profound mastery of the Portuguese language and Brazilian artistic expression.
